General Cigars
Did you know that General Cigars is the largest manufacturer of premium cigars and tobacco in the world? General Cigars was founded in 1906, in Evansville Indiana. Currently, General Cigars is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and is a subsidiary of Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
About General Cigars
General Cigars produces its cigars in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Founded in 1906, General Cigars was sold to the brother of then CEO of Phillip Morris, Joe Cullman. General Cigars then acquired Gold label cigars, the company who then owned the Macanduo cigars. During this period, Macanduo made a limited number of cigars that were primarily sold in the U.K. General Cigars transformed Macanduo from a small cigar company in the 1960s to one of the largest cigar brads in the world by the 1990s.
Since the 1990s, General Cigars has acquired and transformed new brands including Punch. General Cigars has also developed new lines for everyday cigar smokers including Odyssey cigars, Punch Knuckle Buster, and more. General Cigars has also maintained high-quality standards, making their cigars some of the world’s most popular cigars.
